Congratulations to Katherine O'dea from Aurelia's Ice Creamery and Cafe, on winning the Customer Service Award for October 2025. Sponsored by Esperance Communications.

The Esperance Chamber of Commerce and Industry is thrilled to announce Katherine O’Dea from Aurelia’s Ice Creamery & Café as our October Customer Service Award winner!
Katherine has been nominated many times by multiple people for her warm smile, kindness, and dedication to every customer who walks through the door. After ten years running Aurelia’s, she continues to spread joy daily through genuine connection and care.
“What I love about working here? Watching people smile, that’s my favourite part of this business,” Katherine said. “I also love seeing the growth of the young people who come through and work with us. It’s just the most amazing experience”.
Her journey began with a dream board, a vision, and a lot of faith back in 2015, and since then, she’s turned that dream into one of Esperance’s most loved local spots.
“Great customer service is being customer focused,” she said. “Sometimes it’s as simple as asking how someone is, that might be the first kind word they’ve heard all day”.
Katherine says what keeps her motivated is simple: “People. The love of cooking. Doing it with my family. Being a family business, I just love serving people. That’s what motivates me every day”.

Outside the café, Katherine enjoys time with her family, gardening, and taking time to smell the roses.
